Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Mission Importance
Colleagues:
Let me tell you, I do not become excited about University meetings, but
these mission revision meetings are very important. I wish that the entire
University could be involved, because I think it would draw us together
more purposefully. Anyway, it's great theater and invigorates your
synapses. Hopefully, the final product won't be gummed up by sticking
justifications for everybody's little pet project into it.
Here's MY pet idea. The thing ought to lay out clearly how we are going to
serve the people of Tennessee, especially their children.
They need what we have to offer and we ought to be clear about it.
The statement ought to be simple, too, one or two sentences. Yep, short
enought to print on our ID cards.
