Hello,

On Monday, April 10 at 7:30 pm, the UTC Percussion Ensemble will
present "Catch the Groove" at the Hayes Concert Hall.

The UTC Percussion Ensemble has earned a reputation as a premier
percussion group in the Southeast, performing works from the
percussion literature on standard instruments, as well as the more
exotic iron pipes and saws. The "Beat Hunger" program in the fall
regularly attracts capacity audiences, and has become a Chattanooga
tradition.

"Catch the Groove" will feature Michael Burritt's "Doomsday
Machine", inspired by the "Star Trek" episode of the same name, and
the premier of a transcription of the "Agnus Dei" by Samuel Barber
for six marimbas. UTC Senior Matt Broom will conduct the percussion
ballet, "Uhuru". Uhuru uses various kinds of drums, gongs, mallet
instruments, and various smaller sound effects.

The concert is free and the public is invited.

See you there!
