The UTC women's cross country team boasts the fifth-highest grade point
average among all NCAA Division I women's cross country programs, the NCAA
Track and Field Coaches Association announced Tuesday.
The Lady Mocs sported a team GPA of 3.51 and made the top five in the
rankings for the fourth consecutive year. Last year, the Lady Mocs ranked
second.
Leading the Lady Mocs in the class room were Jennifer Croft and Amanda
Lynch, both of whom were named Academic All-Americas. Croft owns a 3.63
GPA in Criminal Justice, and Lynch has a 3.85 in Physical Therapy.
UTC won its second straight Southern Conference Cross Country title this
past season. Both Croft and Lynch earned All-Southern Conference honors.
Lynch finished 11th at the NCAA South Regional and became the first UTC
female student-athlete to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
