Chattanooga was selected as an opening round WNIT site and will host the
Wildcats Friday, March 18 at the McKenzie Arena. Game time has not yet been
announced by the WNIT selection committee.

Lower level reserved seats will be $8 and upper level general admission
tickets are $5. UTC students with a MOCS card can gain admission for $5.
There will be a $2.75 service charge on all phone orders. Please call the
arena box office to order tickets at 423-266-MOCS.

The bands will be seated in each end zone and the student seating will be

UTC students. At that time, all seats will be release for sale to the
general public.

The Lady Mocs closed out the season with a 24-4 record and were the
Southern Conference regular season champs for the sixth consecutive year.
Chattanooga posted a league record of 19-1, second only to the 2004 Lady
Mocs' 20-0 record. Chattanooga fell 55-50 to East Tennessee State in the
second round of the conference tournament and did not receive an at-large
bid from the NCAA selection committee.

This is Chattanooga's second trip to the WNIT postseason tournament. In
Head Coach Wes Moore's second year, the Lady Mocs hosted Alabama and
Georgia Tech in rounds one and two of the WNIT. UTC edged the Crimson Tide
70-68 and fell to the Jackets 81-74 in the next round.

Villanova tied for fourth with Boston College in the Big East with a 19-11
overall record. The Wildcats posted wins over Penn State, Notre Dame and
Boston College. They closed out the conference schedule at 10-6. Two years
ago, Villanova advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament but fell
to Tennessee in the fourth round.

Chattanooga is no stranger to the Big East. In the 2004 NCAA Tournament,
the Lady Mocs shocked Rutgers in the first round at the McKenzie Arena
74-69 before falling to SEC foe Vanderbilt in the second round.
