Professor Lippy received his Ph.D. from Princeton University and is the
LeRoy A. Martin Distinguished  Professor of Religious Studies at UTC.  His
most recent book, MODERN AMERICAN POPULAR RELIGION, was published in 1995.
A volume entitled THE EVANGELICALS will appear later this year.
