Dear Friends:

Dr. McNair has asked me to clarify a point about the November 1, 2001
performance by the UTC Symphony Orchestra of a suite from his recent ballet
"The Millenium Nutcracker". As stated in yesterday's announcement, the
first performance of this work was given in the year 2000 (hence the title)
by Ballet Tennessee at Memorial Auditorium. This was considered the
premiere of the work. The UTC Symphony performance next Thursday evening
will be the first "live" performance of the music, since the music for the
Ballet Tennessee performances last year was recorded professionally, and
only the recording was used during the performance itself. (This is a
common practice with dance troupes these days.)

Live or canned, it's terrifically attractive and tuneful music! We hope
that you can join us for the concert at 8 pm in the Roland Hayes Concert
Hall. Ample parking is available at the Lupton Library garage for evening
events!
