The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention announces its
competition for Training and Technical Assistance for the Life Skills
Training Drug Prevention Program. This program supports the development
and implementation of drug abuse prevention programs that reduce risk
factors and enhance protective factors among adolescents in middle and
junior high school. Projects will provide training and technical
assistance to schools to implement the Life Skills Training drug prevention
program. Eligible applicants are schools, local education agencies, public
health agencies, and public/private drug prevention agencies. UTC is not
an eligible applicant; however, we can be included as a partner. If anyone
at UTC is interested in working with the schools or other applicants to
secure and subsequently implement this program, please contact the Office
of Grants and Program Review at extension 4431. The deadline for
submission of applications is August 9, 1999.
