I haven't found a home for the dog (see yesterday's letter below) but I
wanted to tell you that he has warmed up to my other four dogs and they
are playing nicely. Apparently my dogs were causing the problem--not
him. They are not used to having to share with others. He won them
over and all is well except that our house is too crowded and my husband
is a bit upset with me about all of this.

Please ask around and try to help me find him a home and possibly in
save my marriage.

Thanks,
Kelley Veazey

My son, along with another tenant, rescued a dog in their apartment
house. The owner had moved out and left the dog locked up inside. They
freed the dog, so now I have it. Our other four dogs will not accept
him. I need to find him a good home as soon as possible.

His is a puppy, around 11 or 12 months. He appears to be a Labrador
retriever mix. He has not been neutered and he is solid black. He is
very sweet and well-behaved. So far he has not had any accidents in the
house even though he was forced to do his business in his apartment for
several weeks. The owner left him lots of food but he ran out of water.
Being a resourceful dog, he modified the plumbing somehow and caused a
leak. However, the landlord had the water turned off. That is when the
decision was made to rescue him.

He has a very sweet disposition but he doesn't seem to know how to play.
He is very affectionate toward humans but he is timid around other dogs.
He would rather be on furniture than the floor, which is not a problem
here but someone else may find that problematic. He is very alert and
already knows how to sit for a biscuit.

If someone will agree to take him, I will have him neutered and get his
immunizations.

Thanks,
Kelley Veazey
