I am very sorry to hear of this loss. Below are some area resources that you
may find helpful. It would be a good idea to call and verify that the times
and schedules are accurate if you plan to share it with the father.

Grief Busters

For children (ages 6-12) who have lost loved ones

First and third Thursday 5 p.m.

Memorial Health Place at Hamilton Place

            495-7778

Grief Support (Adolescents)

            For young people (ages 13-18.)

Second and fourth Mondays, 4-5 p.m.

Memorial Health Place at Hamilton Place

            892-4289, ext. 137 or ext. 122

Mourning After

Bereavement support for children, teenagers and adults

            892-9772

Hospice of Chattanooga
For families and friends after the death of a loved one
Bereavement support groups and grief support services
      For information: 267-6828 or 892-4289
They offer Bereavement Support for families, and they have a Community
Resource Library including books and tapes written for children. On their
website (l <http://www.hospiceofchattanooga.org/V2/index.htm>
http://www.hospiceofchattanooga.org/V2/index.htm ), I noticed several other
items listed that target either children or caregivers who are concerned
about bereavement in children. I have listed a couple of
examples below.
-When a Parent Dies: Supporting the Children (video tape)
-A Child's View on Grief (video )

If these ideas are not a good fit, perhaps someone with one of the above
groups can make other suggestions. I wish you, your friend, and the children
well.

Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Grief Counseling for children?

Does anyone have information regarding grief counseling services for kids in
this area- preferably without cost??

A friend's wife died suddenly over the week-end and left 3 kids, ages 9,4 &
3. He needs help too, but we're all worried about the kids.

Thanks,

Gerry Ann Bosworth
