The total amount raised at UTC for this year's United Way campaign exceeded
the campaign goal by $10,000!
        Bill Aiken, who served as the coordinator of the the fund-raising
campaign for UTC, reported that the total amount raised as of today is just
over $60,000.  The goal was $50,000; and the total raised last year was
$40,000.
        In appreciation for everyone's generosity, a campaign "wrap-up"
celebration is planned for Friday, Nov. 12 in the outdoor amphitheatre
located between Cadek and the Fine Arts Center,from noon - 1 p.m.  There
will be free hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks; plus entertainment by the
UTC jazz band. In the event of bad weather the event will be held in the
Fine Arts Center.
        Thanks to everyone who made this year's campaign such an
unbelievable success...and special thanks to Bill Aiken and Mary Scott for
their persuasive powers and cheerful handling of the campaign's logistics.
