Highland Park Tour of Homes
On Saturday, October 21st from 10:00am - 4:00pm, the Highland Park
Neighborhood showcases nine beautifully restored homes during the annual
Tour of Homes event. This year's line up samples the variety of
architectural styles known to this historic, urban neighborhood including:
Craftsman bungalows, Victorian cottages, and American Foursquares.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Architectural Exchange or the
Shoppes on McCallie. Begin the tour by receiving the tour booklet and
refreshments at the Deli Man & Cake Lady - 1414 McCallie Avenue. Catch a
ride along the tour route on the Chattanooga Lookouts Trolley. Hot dogs
and lemonade are also complimentary to tour goers at the Neighborhood
Center where information will be available from our event sponsors.
Outside the Center stands Highland Park's newest addition, the Birth of
Light art sculpture by Chattanooga artist, Tommy Spake. Relocated from the
First Street Sculpture Garden, Birth of Light represents important aspects
of our community - the rebirth and revitalization of Highland Park and the
diversity of residents.
Visit www.highlandparktn.com for more information. Proceeds from the Tour
of Homes benefit the Highland Park Neighborhood Association and its
programs to reach the residents of the community.
