The Sequatchie Valley Institute invites you to come out Saturday April
16th and join us on our second Spring Wildflower hike, led by Christine
Bock, TN Aquarium Head Horticulturist and UTC Env. Science alumnus, on
April 16th at 11 am central time (12 noon Eastern). Come out and
enjoy the amazing wildflowers on the mountainside in the beautiful
Sequatchie Valley.
The hike will last about two hours. We will observe the wonderful
changes in diversity and color from the first hike.
BLOOMING NOW: SHRUB BUCKEYE, PINK AND WHITE AZALEAS, BLUE PHLOX,
MAYFLOWERS, WHITE TRILLIUM, GOLDEN RAGWORT, AND MILK VETCH--and MORE.
YOU MAY CATCH THE BRIEF FLOWERING OF TROUT LILY. THE DOGWOODS AND
RED-BUDS ARE OUT OF CONTROL!
There will be a longer, rougher hike that continues into the late
afternoon. We are only 45 minutes from UTC by car, but an infinite
distance in peace and quiet with the opportunity to enjoy the natural
world, hike on trails in a
pristine forest, and experience our sustainable lifestyle.

You are also invited to see our innovative natural buildings, solar
electric system and permaculture gardens and orchards, as well as hike
on our nature
trails. Please call or email to let us know if you plan to come and we
will provide you with directions and more information.
The program is free, but donations for our non-profit educational
programs are accepted. The Como Se LLama Crafts Gallery will be open,
with exceptional art made by our staff. Profits benefit Sequatchie
Valley Institute. Featured now: Carol's Leaf Tiles and Ashley's Glass
Bead Jewelry.

See below for the remaining Spring events.
