Dr. Gene Bartoo of the College of Education Graduate Studies Division has
been awarded two supplemental grants for the college's TRI-IT program. The
TRI-IT program is currently in its second of three years and is designed to
aid in teacher recruitment for high-need schools through encouraging
college students, and especially minority students, to choose education as
their major.

Dr. Bartoo's grant supplements are from the United States Department of
Education; one totals $93,697 and the other is for $16,954. Part of the
grant money will fund scholarships for 50 program participants.

Congratulations to Dr. Bartoo on the continued success of this program.
