On behalf of Komen Chattanooga Race for the Cure please allow me to thank
each UT Chattanooga participant, volunteer, and support staff for assisting
with the mission of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (To eradicate
breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research,
education, screening and treatment.) and for making the Chattanooga event
(Sunday, September 24, 2006 on campus) a huge success. There were greater
than 5,000 active participants with an additional 500+ volunteers. We raised
in excess of $250,000. UT Chattanooga truly demonstrated its mission of an
"engaged metropolitan university."

Special thanks to Chancellor Roger Brown and Dr. Carolyn Thompson for
serving as honorary local co-chairpersons and for their support, time and
effort in advancing this cause.
