PLENTY OF ENTERTAINMENT PLANNED FOR RIVER CITY
CLASSIC WEEKEND

        CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--- Many activities are planned to make this weekend’s
River
City Classic an entertaining event.
        The weekend starts Friday at 8 p.m. with the River City-United Negro
College Fund’s
“Jamming for Education” musical celebration at the Bessie Smith Hall.
        Saturday begins with a parade at 10:30 a.m. that will weave through
downtown and head
to Finley Stadium.
        The football game between the Chattanooga Mocs and the Savannah State
Tigers kicks off
at 3:30 p.m. at Finley Stadium.  The tailgate area at cricKet Pavilion will
have free pregame
entertainment featuring the music of Rhythm and Blues band Vega and several
other local bands.
        The celebration concludes after the game at 7 p.m. with a Step Show at the
UTC Arena.
        Tickets to the football game are $10 for grandstand seats, $15 for
reserved seats.  Area
students are admitted for $5, and UTC students get in free with their Mocs
card.
