Faculty, Staff, and Students,

As many of you are well aware, Brock Hall continues to have what has
been described as a "gas smell" permeating the building. Both the
Chattanooga Fire Department and our own Office of Safety & Risk
Management have tested the building for toxic and combustible gases; no
traces of either were present in the building. Though the smell is in
no way hazardous, we realize that it poses a distraction and a nuisance
to everyone in the building. Currently, the Facilities Department and
the Office of Safety & Risk Management are working together to locate
the source of the odor. We apologize for the nuisance and ask for your
continued patience in this matter.

Thanks,

Chip
