Thanks once again for the generosity of the Chancellor's staff, the
ERC/ESC will be hosting another picnic which will be held next
Friday, August 11th, starting at 11:30 am and ending at 1:30 pm for
faculty and staff. It is a 50's party with 50's music, and if you
would like to enter the "50's best dressed" contest, please feel free
to do so. but let me know by email if you intend on entering so I
know how many entries we will have. The picnic will be held in the
Maclellan Gym where it's nice and cool. Be sure you sign up for door
prizes when you enter the gym. If there are people in your office
who cannot attend or will be late, you may sign up for them so that
everyone has a chance at the door prizes. As I mentioned in my last
email, back by popular demand, we will once again have our dessert
"bake off" contest so if any of you want to enter your favorite
dessert, please email me so that I can keep count of the
entries. The desserts must be at the gym no later than 10:30 a.m. as
the judging will begin at 11:15 ending at 11:45 with the winners
being announced at 12:00 noon. We will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
winners with prizes for each winner. The day of the picnic, put your
name and the name of your dessert on the bottom of your carrier so
that the judges will have this information. After the judging, the
desserts will be sold at $.50 cents per slice and the money will be
put into the Non Exempt Career Development Fund for employees use for
professional development, so bring your change so you can purchase
these delicious entries.
Our very dedicated Aramark is providing us a delicious menu as
requested. We will have fried chicken, bbq pork, potato salad, baked
beans, slaw, rolls, veggie burgers with condiments, buns, blackberry
cobbler, peach cobbler, soft serve ice cream, water, lemonade, tea, cokes.
