Dear Colleague,

President-elect and Mrs. John Petersen will visit the campus Friday morning
at approximately 10:00 a.m.  His call a few moments ago is a great
indication that he is excited to be in Tennessee and well prepared for
leading this system.  Our good news is that he knows us already through his
discipline, the outstanding Chemistry program, faculty, and students.

I appreciated his courtesy call.  It is an indication of his leadership for
all campuses in the system already.

I hope you are able to join in welcoming him to UTC in the Chattanooga Room
of the University Center Friday, April 23rd at 10:00 a. m.  Accompanying
President-elect and Mrs. Petersen will be President Joe Johnson, Trustee
Andrea Loughery, Trustee Jim Murphy, and Dr. Margaret Perry.
