I am working w/ a Chattanooga family that has a 14 month old w/ Level III
lead exposure. Is anyone aware of any programs in Hamilton County that
will fund a home inspection for the family? The inspections run around
$500. The family has TNCARE. TNCARE will cover one inspection, but we
need two. One inspection is needed for the home that the family lives in
right now and the other will be needed for the home that they want to move
in to. We are trying to get the current landlord to pay for one of the
inspections, but he has not been very responsive so far. We need this done
ASAP. I have called the Hamilton Co. Health Dept. They had a program, but
funding was lost in '99. Alternative Actions and the Chattanooga Housing
Authority have already been contacted. I am very surprised that there is
not a system in place for this, and I am hoping that there is and I just
havn't found it yet! I am also going to call a few of the more experienced
doctors in the area and see what they have done in the past.

Thanks, in advance, for any further suggestions offered.
