How about some Monday night fun? I'd like to suggest you come join us to
hear the
Rebecca Riots, a California acoustic trio. They will be performing a
benefit concert at Sing Sing, at the Big River Grille, on Monday, January
25, 8:00 pm. The local brilliant jazz performer, Emily Boyd, will be
opening the program. Entrance fee $3.00. Proceeds will benefit the
Sequatchie Valley Institute, a nonprofit organization for research and
education in ecology and sustainable living.

Rebecca Riots performs fresh folk music, characterized by warmth, topical
politics, and compassion, expressed through powerful vocal and guitar
arrangements. The
former teachers bring an accessible, friendly energy to the often
thought-provoking content of their songs.

Rebecca Riots was voted "Best Band with a Conscience" by the San Francisco
Bay Guardian in 1998.

"A powerful radical folk trio - their feminist material and dynamic
delivery stopped a large crowd of people dead in their tracks at the
Seattle Folklife Festival."-Seattle Folklore Society, Seattle, Washington

"Beyond some gorgeous harmonies, there is a profound honesty and a very
deep caring in their music."-Dugg Simpson,
Artistic Director, Vancouver Folk Music Festival, B.C., Canada
