Is anyone familiar with the policy of returns at Chattanooga Books? I
have a student who purchased a textbook from them (hoping to save
money). They gave him the wrong one, and he could not return it until I
called and confirmed it was the wrong book. The person on the phone
told me they get their book orders from the UTC bookstore. The UTC
bookstore had mistakenly ordered the wrong book, but it had been
corrected. Unfortunately Chattanooga Books was not contacted about this
correction. The student can exchange the book for the correct one, and
receive a gift card for any difference. They don't give any cash back.
This just doesn't seem like a fair policy, especially since this was not
the student's fault. I'm really not familiar with Chattanooga Books.
Do they have a good reputation? Just curious.
