Ok, so many of you get off atround 5 p.m. today. Traffic is getting terrible. Why not stay on campus a wee bit longer an enjoy 30 minutes of quiet music? The Cadek Flute Choir will present a short program of Advent music from 5:15-5:45 in the Cadek Recital Hall. We will be playing some of the lesser known songs of Christmas (and Advent), such as the Swedish carol "Prepare the Way", and from the shape-note tradition of our region, "Babe of Bethlehem" from the Southern Harmony book. We will also be doing some familiar tunes, such as "I Wonder as I Wander" and "Coventry Carol". We will end with two traditional carols, "What Child is This" and"Silent Night", accompanied by two harps (Cadek harp instructor Betty Spencer, and myself!).
Wait out the traffic with us, then head to dinner or church, or wherever.
Oh yes...the program is free! You don't have to be there at the stroke of 5:15, and you can leave when you need to.
Give me a call (after 1 p.m.) if you have any questions (425-4680).
Nora Kile
music adjunct and Cadek flute teacher (formerly full-time Cadek faculty..but don't get me started on THAT topic.....<g>
..and yes, the same music person concerned about an athlete last week. FYI: he passsed my class! <g>)
