The above web page is where I got the information from. Scroll down to the Fridays morning news. This whole debate began over comments that Fowler made, which I still feel where inappropriate. The part that I find interesting is that she got upset enough about it to say that she was going to resign her position but then she makes a comment that can be taken a number of different ways. I do not believe UTC is just for poor people nor do I believe that Harvard gets all of the best students. I have met a lot of students here and their reasons for attending UTC vary, just as someone pointed out earlier, our honors program or our PT program etc. There are people who attend Harvard because they have Harvard money or the family power, etc. There are people who attend UTC who can afford Harvard, but they chose something different. This is my opinion. I posted this message so that employees who wanted to respond could. If you don't agree with the context that the statement is being portrayed then thats fine. Fowler is stating that he was misunderstood; maybe she is being misunderstood as well.

I wonder where is the source of Heather's information. I do not believe
for one minute that Dr. Brown made such a statement. First because she
taught at UTC for over 25 yeard. She developed the Social work Program at
UTC. Secondly because Dr. Brown is a states person, she would never make
such a statement. In the future, Heather should make sure that her
information is accurate before broadcasting it to everyone. As the sender
of the message she is responsible for it accuracy and as an adult, she
ought to know better; remeber to believe half of what you and very little
of what you read in the paper. I have been misquoted too many times by
reporters to believe any of what I read.
