The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) recognizes the importance of
community cultural planning where ideas and strategies are shared,
and partnerships and collaborations are formed to advance our nation's
cultural resources. Through the ArtsREACH program, NEA seeks to encourage
arts activity among organizations in geographic areas, like Tennessee, that
have been underrepresented among the direct grantees of the agency.
>
Through ArtsREACH, grants will be available for the following purposes:
>
-To undertake a community cultural assessment and/or create a community
>cultural plan through a process that includes coalition building.
>
-To implement a project that is related to an existing community cultural
>plan. The cultural plan must have been created with a coalition of
>community partners that included artists, art organizations, and
private/public sectors of the community.
>
>Grants will range from $3,000 to $10,000.
>
>Deadline: April 26, 1999
