Several in the community have asked where they can find Dana Gioia's
influential and provocative article, "Can Poetry Matter?" It is available at
http://www.theatlantic.com/unbound/poetry/gioia/gioia.htm.

In addition, information about Nosferatu is available at
http://www.danagioia.net/books/poetry/nos.htm, with some sample lyrics.
Gioia's entire libretto for the opera has recently been published as a book
by Graywolf Press.

The SunTrust Chair of Excellence in Humanities is delighted to serve as a
co-sponsor for the performances of "Scenes from Nosferatu" this coming
Friday, November 1 and Sunday, November 3. Kim Renz has outdone himself this
time, in bringing to Chattanooga what amounts to an operatic premiere. Don't
miss it, and don't miss this opportunity to see the next Chair of the
National Endowment for the Arts in action. The box office number is
423-425-4269.
