As some of you may know, the Faculty Senate has set up an ad hoc committee
to look at calendar issues and their resolution for UTC. As part of the
initial identification of important issues and the affected parties, we need
each of you to tell us what you see as the important issues involved with
the calendar and to whom they are most critical; e.g., does your department
have a lot of summer students to whom the summer schedule is critical? Or
do you think timing of breaks should be synchronized with public schools? Or
would you be willing to start earlier in the fall if it meant a week fall
break? Or do you think maintaining three graduations a year is critical to
serving our students?
Whatever the issues are which you feel most important, please tell us.
Also, if the calendar is an issue you are passionate about, and you would
like to be part of the committee, please tell us that as well.
Please help us by sending your input to me ([log in to unmask]) by
Tuesday, February 1.
Thanks!
Claire McCullough
