Time of year when many of us give time and money to others. ext time you are
trying to do something nice and help out others by donating old items remember
what I am about to say. Not every truck depsitory, clothing drop, etc is non
profit. Be sure you know where your coats, clothes, etc are going. I can not
endorse one over the other but we drop our stuff to Goodwill or Salvation
Army. My wife and I did a lot of community work before we had Genevieve and I
remember a battle we had in Kansas City with an organization that only donated
a fixed amount of the proceeds. People thought they were giving to our
organization or at least one like ours but they were funding a multi million
dollar industry. I saw one of their trucks downtown today. Perhaps they no
longer are an actual for profit business. Undoubtedly someone in the managing
not for profit faculty could give a little more information. Are there anymore
businesses disguised as non profs or did they manage to do away with them.
