Dear Colleagues,

The Writing Center, located in Holt 119, will be open, until further
notice, on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 11:00 to 4:00. Please
encourage your students to visit us for tutoring help, a friendly
environment in which to write, or for access to writing resources.

Although we publicize the Center in a variety ways, we find that UTC
students, like those at most other colleges, who visit us are most likely
to have heard about us in their classes. (The writing center at the
University of Texas, for example, reports that such is true of 76% of their
clients.) If you feel that your students would benefit from visiting the
Center, we encourage you to encourage them to come. If you would like to
distribute brochures or would be willing to have us pay a short visit to
your class(es) to introduce the Center's services, please let us know
either my e-mail or by telephone at 1774.

We appreciate your continued cooperation.

Frances
P.S. Don't forget that we can provide brief workshops on a variety of
topics to classes. (See "Faculty Guide to Use of the WC at UTC"; and if,
for some reason, you did not receive one of these guides by campus mail,
please let me know.)
