Title: Financial Derivatives
Abstract: Derivatives have been highlighted in the news as the villains
responsible for the financial downfall of Orange County, CA and the
Barings
PLC investment bank of Britain. Generally speaking, human judgment and not
derivatives are to blame. Basic types of derivatives will be outlined.
A model of how to price derivatives will be studied beginning with the
binomial tree model and expanding to a continuous model.
