The Witter Bynner Foundation for Poetry has awarded Dr. Oralia Preble-Niemi
$5,000 to produce a Spanish-to-English translation of significant poetry by
Central American women poets.

Because the poetry is of such high quality and access is often difficult,
Dr. Preble-Niemi plans to publish a bilingual anthology.  She will select
5-10 poems from the writings of between 30 and 40 poets as representative
of the best poetry by women in six Spanish-speaking countries of Central
America.

Please join the Office of Grants and Program Review in congratulating Dr.
Preble-Niemi on this honor.  UTC is fortunate to have faculty who can bring
this kind of recognition to our institution.
