to this year's Arts and Education Council Readers' Feast.

The Arts & Education Council cordially invites you to attendthe third biennial


"A Reader's Feast"

 on Thursday, April 18, 2002 from 6 - 9 PM

at Southside Grill

This biennial literary program will feature a gourmet Southern dinner
"narrated" by Southside's Chef Nathan, followed by a program on the role of
Southern food in Southern literature and culture.

Guest writers and experts on culinary traditions of the South will feature

Joseph Dabney, author of the award-winning



Smokehouse Ham, Spoonbread, and Scuppernong Wine

John T. Edge of the Southern Food Alliance

Vertamae Smart-Grosvenor, culinary anthropologist,



writer, and NPR's cultural correspondent


Cost for the program is $75 and includes your meal (with wine) and the
program.
Books will be available for sale and for signing.
