Please inform your students that there are two opportunities tommorrow,
Tuesday March 19th, to learn more about what archaeology can tell us about
both Jewish history and the Bible.

At 3:00 P.M. in the Signal Mountain Room Professor J.P. Dessel from the
Knoxville campus will talk on "Is the Bible History? Origins of the
Israelites from a Village Perspectives," which will draw upon his
excavation of Tell 'Ein Zippori in Lower Galilee. This is sponsored by the
History Department lecture series.

At 7:00 P.M. in the Raccoon Mountain Room, Professor Yigal Levin will also
speak on a similar topic. They may support, modify, or disagree with each
other on the important issues of interpretion; attend both to find out!
