Dear UTC,

A very special group of 8th graders at Orchard Knob Middle School need your
help.  These students are in danger of having to repeat 8th grade next
year, and they have been working very hard to avoid that.  Each day,
voluntarily, this group stays after school to get extra instruction from
their teachers.  Unfortunately, some of these teachers, because of coaching
commitments that cannot be adjusted, can no longer stay after school at
this really crucial point in the year.  To help the situation, GEAR UP is
putting together a group of volunteers who can tutor these students and
keep them on track to move to 9th grade next year.

We know it's a lot, but if you can give Orchard Knob two hours a week
between now and mid-May, your efforts would go a long way.  The school is
looking for folks who can tutor either math or language arts.  Tutors need
to be available either either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday,
from 2:30-3:30.
