Speak up! Persuasive Speaking Contest

Dates:
April 19, 2006- Pre-lims- University Center, starting at 6 p.m.
April 20, 2006- Finals- University Center Auditorium, 7 p.m.

Who can participate:
Any UTC student who has enrolled or is enrolled in a course that fulfills oral communication requirements during the 2005-2006 school year.

Prizes:
1st place- $200 cash prize
2nd Place- $100 cash prize
3rd Place- $50 cash prize

The persuasive public speaking contest will take place April 19 & 20, 2006 evening in the U.C. (room assignments will be posted after the sign-up deadline).  Please note that you must be able to attend both evenings to participate.  



REQUIREMENTS FOR PERSUASIVE SPEECHES:
Speeches should be 6-9 minutes, include in-text citations and research, at least one presentational aid and speeches must be given from notecards.  

If you have taken THSP 109 during the 2005-2006 school year, please plan to compete!


Registration Forms are available in the Theatre and Speech main office- Fine Arts Building.
