Dr. Gary Wilkerson, Coordinator of the Graduate Athletic Training
Program, has received funding from several local educational organizations
and health care facilities to provide sites for graduate Athletic Training
students to receive clinical field experience.
Dr. Wilkerson has received a total of $210,000 from organizations including
the Baylor School, Lee University, Parkridge Medical Center, Hutcheson
Medical Center, Hamilton Sports Medicine, the McCallie School, and the
Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics.
Dr. Wilkerson will work with the host sites to provide rigorous internships
for 15 graduate students. The opportunities provided by these clinical site
agreements will enable students to have valuable applied experiences and
extend the boundaries of their classroom education.
Congratulations to Dr. Wilkerson! The positive relationships you have
formed with community organizations provide UTC students with significant
advantage as they continue school and move into the workforce.
