To the UTC Community,

 

                        It is with deepest regret that I must announce the
untimely death of one of our colleagues.  Dr. Stephen Halperin, second year
Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental
Sciences, passed away at his home this weekend.  He died of natural causes,
but the precise cause of death has yet to be determined.  As of yet I have
no information about funeral arrangements, although I will share this
information with the UTC community as soon as it becomes available.  Dr.
Halperin was 41.  He is survived by his wife, Vladimira, and his young
three-year old son, Gavin.  Although his tenure here at UTC was all too
brief, he was much beloved by students and colleagues, and he will be sorely
missed.
