Dr. Frederick Buechner, writer and theologian, will speak in the
Ward Theatre at 5:30 p.m. on
Sunday, April 18th.   Dr. Buechner is the author of more than 30
works of fiction and nonfiction
including "The Sacred Journey," "Whistling in the Dark," "Brendan,"
and "Godric".     The Ward
Theatre program is free.

      Prior to the program in the Ward Theatre, the Connor Society and
UTC will hold a reception welcoming Dr. Buechner to our campus.   The
reception will last form 4 p.m to 5 p.m. in the Faculty
Club.   Admission to the reception is $25.   People wishing to attend
should mail checks made out
to the Connor Society of the UC Foundation, 732 Cherry Street,
Chattanooga, TN 37402.
