On a similar thread, the library has a new documentary entitled, "My
Country, My Country" which was filmed in 2005, and documents several
weeks in the life of an Iraqi doctor and his family.
The film offers a small glimpse (albeit from the eyes of an American
filmmaker) of life inside Iraq since the U.S. occupation.
The DVD located on the 1st floor of the library at call # DS79.76.M9.

Creating an apparently fictional story:
http://lighthousepatriotjournal.wordpress.com/2006/08/17/myth-blaster-em
ail-
story-a-simple-thank-you/
to co-opt what was a Canadian movement
http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/redfriday.asp
still seems odd to me. The red makes sense once you find out it was
Canadian
to begin with.
Anyway, as Snopes points out, there are much more direct ways to
"support
the troops":

The few on this campus who have zipped a body bag to seal the body of
a friend, have very specific feelings about these things.
Those memories have nothing to do with politics or a movements
manipulations of public opinion.
You cannot kill an idea and you cannot kill the memory of men who
gave their life on our behalf.
Politics will never erase the dreams at night of eyes wide being
hidden in black rubber.
A sandy haired friend will visit you forever if the last thing you
remember is zipping over his blood soaked hair and open eyes.
To honor their memory is not honoring the war or the men whose
missteps started it.
