The next regular Faculty Meeting will be November 12, 2003 at 3:15 P.M.
Please mark your calendars now.

Note: Other meetings can be called in times of urgent business in addition
to the four regular Faculty Meetings. The last time this happened was in
the Spring of 1999 when UTC had to respond to THEC's mandate for changing
conditions of tenure to include Post Tenure Review (now in abeyance due to
the unexpected cost at UTK) and termination of tenure procedures (which
remain in place: sticks are cheaper than carrots). The Handbook allows for
the calling of these meetings at other times by the Chancellor, by the
Faculty Council [now Senate] or by petition of fifteen (15) members of the
faculty to the Faculty Secretary. I am in Brock 408 and can be reached at
