Ms. Anne Gamble, Director of UTC's Children's Center, has received $19,984
from
the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, Inc. to help the program
expand to include infant care. The grant will fund new equipment and
supplies for the infant care program which will be housed within the two
new downtown Elementary Schools-Battle and Brown Academies.
The Community Foundation's award recognizes the important service that The
Children's Center provides to our community. As a result of the
high-quality preschool education the Center provides, the Tennessee Early
Childhood Training Alliance has named the Center a model early childhood
education site. Support from the Community Foundation will enable the
Center to expand services to provide much-needed infant care for UTC and
downtown families. Equally important, the program will ensure that UTC
students in Child and Family Studies programs will gain applied experience
in working with young children and their families to promote learning and
healthy early childhood development
Congratulations to Ms. Gamble, and best of luck with the new infant care
service!
