The UTC Psychology Department continues its Fall 2006 Colloquium Series this
Wednesday, October 18th, 2006, from 3-4PM in the UC Auditorium.  All are
welcome and encouraged to attend!
 
Dr. Brian O'Leary will speak; the title of his talk is "Diversity: And
Justice for All?" An abstract is provided below.
 
Diversity, particularly demographic diversity, is often treated by
researchers and business organizations as something that must have positive
consequences to be acceptable. Some researchers are moving beyond the
"Business Case" to examine organizational diversity through a deontic lens,
that is, as a moral imperative. They propose that the ultimate end of
diversity management is to create a just workplace. Dr. O'Leary will discuss
the antecedents of diversity effects and propose a model of the relationship
between diversity and perceptions of organizational justice.
