The UTC School of Nursing would like to extend an invitation to anyone
interested in attending our annual Symposium. The Symposium will be held
tomorrow, October 19th, from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm at Christ United Methodist
Church on East Brainerd Road. This year the topic is: Forensic
Nursing: Blending Forensic Science with the Art of Caring. The featured
speaker is Virginia A. Lynch, one of the founders of the International
Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN). Professor Lynch defines clinical
forensic nursing "as the application of clinical nursing practice to trauma
survivors or to those whose death is pronounced in the clinical
environs." Thus "forensic nursing includes nursing science that overlaps
with public or legal proceedings, specifically the scientific investigation
and treatment of trauma and/or death of victims and perpetrators of abuse,
violence, criminal activity, and traumatic accidents."

No RSVP is necessary, if you are able to attend, we would love to see you
there.
