Dear University Community,

Many of the listings that this email seems to have been directed at were
not political in nature (while many were, of course), they were a
discussion of the best way for students to use their time: either go to
class and learn about the world to better affect the outcomes they desire
or to not go to class and protest what is currently happening. This would
seem to be a thoroughly appropriate use of this listserv.

Also, if I remember correctly from a previous discussion (unfortunately I
cannot find the link on the university website), this listserv was
established to facilitate information dissemination AND discussion of
issues. Therefore, if one does not wish to be exposed to any material that
might upset, I (again) highly recommend the use of the "delete" key and the
use of filters when viewing email.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Stephen Leather
