You may be referring to Google Scholar:

http://scholar.google.com

which indexes what google supposes to be scholarly articles. From the
website:

"Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly
literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and
sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles,
from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories,
universities and other scholarly organizations. Google Scholar helps you
identify the most relevant research across the world of scholarly
research."

I use it quite a bit for Open Access journals and if I'm attempting to
verify a citation from another source that I think is faulty.

Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Google Question

Someone had posted a web address for a Google search engine that was
more for educational research. Is there anyone that might still have
this web address?
