I would like to thank everyone who responded and will be able to help.
Several people asked if the tutors would be volunteers or paid positions.
Unfortunately, Girls Inc. will not be able to pay tutors, so they are
looking for people who are willing and able to volunteer. Besides being a
great experience and contributing to the community, it will look great on a
resume.

Thanks again to everyone who has agreed to help find tutors. If you can be
a contact person to help find tutors, but have not responded yet - I don't
think it is possible to have too many people and would gladly add you to the
list of contact people.

Thanks,

Gail

Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Tutors

Girls Inc. is writing a proposal for the YES (Youth Enrichment Services)
Program funded by the Workforce Investment Act. They are looking for help in
identifying tutors for participants who are deficient in basic skills. The
program will not start until September, but for the proposal they need to
have contact names for people who can help recruit tutors.

If you can recruit students for such a project, know of students looking to
get involved in community service or are willing to help out,or have other
ideas of how to recruit students to help, please let me know. They are
particularly interested in students in math or education, or any students
with strong math and/or English skills who would like to get involved.

Please let me know if you are willing to be a contact person.

Thanks,

Gail
