Dr. Obi Ebbe in Sociology, Anthropology, and Geography has contributed to the recently published book Menace to Society: Political-Criminal Collaboration Around the World. Roy Goodson of Georgetown University edited the book that was released by Transaction Publishers in July of 2003.

Dr. Ebbe’s chapter, entitled “Slicing Nigeria’s ‘National Cake,’” focuses on the symbiotic relationships between “predatory states” (governments that abuse their power) and organized crime rings. Dr. Ebbe explores this relationship, drawing evidence and examples from the situation that has existed for the past thirty years in his native Nigeria. Dr. Ebbe’s analysis is the first published study carried out by an individual who was born into and lived under this type of regime in Nigeria.

Congratulations to Dr. Ebbe.
