Dr. Cherry Guinn has received a $27,000 continuation grant from the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services for a three-year project geared at
educating rural public health nurses.

This project will enable nurses in forty-seven rural counties in southeast
Tennessee, northeast Alabama, and northwest Georgia to expand their
knowledge and skills in advanced practices related to women's and
children's health. The project will also provide a networking opportunity
for these nurses so they can communicate with each other to solve problems.
The nurses who participate will receive approximately 18 hours of
continuing education credit.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Guinn for working to improve health
education in other states, as well as in Tennessee. Good job, Dr. Guinn!
