Shirl Gholston of Student Support Services has been awarded $218,977 from
the United States Department of Education in continued funding for the
program.  UTC's Student Support Services program addresses the needs of
disadvantaged students through tutoring, mentoring, cultural activities,
and other academic services and seeks to increase success rates among
at-risk students.

Congratulations to Ms. Gholston on the continued success of the Student
Support Services program.
