UTC's Wilson Named Academic All-District

Chattanooga senior forward Jennifer Wilson has been named to the 2003
Verizon Academic All-District IV First Team and will be on the ballot for
the 2003 Academic All-America Team.

Wilson, who hails from Oak Ridge, Tenn., leads Chattanooga in scoring with
10.3 points per game and she is second on the team in rebounding with 5.7
rebounds per game. She is third on the squad in field goal shooting
(46.2%), second in free throw shooting (82.0%) and second in assists (50).

"Jennifer Wilson is the epitome of a student-athlete," said Chattanooga
coach Wes Moore. "She excels both in the classroom and on the court. She is
a very dedicated and goal-oriented individual. We're so fortunate to have
her representing the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and in
particular the women's basketball program."

Wilson carries a 3.93 GPA in Math Education and she has earned a perfect
4.0 GPA in five of her seven semesters. Last season, she was named to the
Verizon Academic All-District IV Second Team and has been on the UTC Dean's
List every semester.

Wilson has started every game in her career but one and that was at the end
of the 2001-02 season when she yielded the court on senior day. She became
the 16th member of the school's 1,000-point club earlier this season. She
is listed in UTC's career top 10 for scoring, free throw percentage, field
goals made, field goals attempted and games played.

Wilson has been a big part of Chattanooga's recent success where this
season the Lady Mocs became the first Southern Conference team with four
consecutive 20-win seasons. UTC is 20-4 overall and 13-2 in the Southern
Conference. The Lady Mocs could clinch a tie for their fourth consecutive
SoCon championship with a win Saturday at Appalachian State (1 p.m.).
