Greetings all......I'd like to clarify some of the information presented
in the earlier email regarding advisement times......the time listed on the
student's OneNet account is not an advisement time....it's a registration
time....the time listed is the time a student can begin registering
presuming they have met with their advisor and have been given their
advisement code. In the past the registration times began at
8:00a....however, too many attempts were made to log into the system at
exactly 8:00a and there weren't enough ports and so the system
crashed. Consequently, we decided to open the registration times at 6:00a
in an attempt to keep the system up and running so that students wouldn't
be inconvenienced by a system that wasn't working.

Our advisors, faculty, and staff are very dedicated but no one is being
asked to advise at 6:00a....as we move more and more to online
registration....it just makes sense to have online registration available
at more convenient times to the users....especially during the priority
registration times when students are assigned registration times according
to their cumulative hours.

Again....keep in mind the time listed is registration time....the assigned
registration time is based the upon cumulative hours. Graduate students
do not have assigned registration times so they are all given the first
available time as their registration time....thus all graduate students can
all begin registering at 6:00a on April 4. Students can only register
online once they have met with their advisor and received their advisement
code....which means they should have already met with their advisors at a
time convenient for both students and the advisor by their registration time.

Speaking of advisement times.....advisement is at the discretion of the
department. Since we've moved strictly to an online schedule of classes
that is available much earlier than the paper Timetable used to be
available....departments can schedule advisement that better meets the
needs of their students and advisors rather than our office assigning times.
